About
Petr Němec develops a sound-based practice at the intersection of
composition, performance, installation, and participatory situations.
In his work, sound is understood not only as an acoustic phenomenon,¨
but as a material force and a relational medium through
which porous boundaries between the human body, technical systems,
and the environment can be explored.
His long-term interests include collective listening,
the corporeality of vibration, and the relationships between space
and body, time and memory, presence and its traces.
He is interested in how imaginatively composed situations can
transform involuntary hearing into conscious listening,
and how they can create conditions for more intense experiences
of encounter.
His practice seeks to connect inner and outer landscapes
of perception and to develop forms of shared attention
in which imagination, participation, and sensitivity
to environment become tools for a deeper lived experience.
